BUSINESS CASUAL

Work attire can be a little tricky. After working a string of jobs that involved slinging anything from espresso beverages to beer and breakfast food, I had grown accustomed to rolling into work wearing jeans and whatever top was readily accessible. But when life delivered a forceful (yet necessary) push toward my first big girl job in years, I found myself at a loss for what to wear. Business casual was a territory unexplored.

Trying to rework a wardrobe fitting for my new job was a bit of a challenge. Fortunately, I found there are plenty of ways to keep your look fun and youthful, yet still professional. Incorporating fun prints and unique pieces allows us to show some personality and still come off as capable and appropriate. In one of my favorite work outfits, I paired a far-from fancy cactus-print button down with a high-waisted jersey pencil skirt. Layered with my favorite thrift store vest and some super-comfy heeled booties, I feel stylish, comfortable and ready to take on the workday! Who says work wear has to be boring?IMG_3976IMG_3967 IMG_3971IMG_3968 IMG_3969 Cactus button down from F21, thrifted vest and skirt, Target booties and favorite dollar store wayfarers!
